Orrery is available through Ephemerent — a coding harness for agent software work with persistent context and verification. We build AI that is useful, safe, accessible, and respectful of intelligence.

The temporary-mind field sequence

Field sequence 001 · temporary minds 01 / 04Assemble
A physical paper network assembling around one central goal.
Field sequence · temporary minds Goal received · scope made explicit
  1. 01

    Assemble around one explicit goal.

Only the workers needed for the task appear. The goal and working boundary arrive first.

    Goal received · scope visible
  2. 02

    Isolate each attempt.

Parallel work stays separated, so one branch cannot quietly overwrite another.

Three bounded paths · no shared edits
  3. 03

    Verify before selection.

Attempts are compared by available evidence. A result is chosen because it holds up, not because it sounds complete.

    Evidence compared · result selected
  4. 04

Keep the result. Release the workers.

The temporary system dissolves when the run ends. The selected work and its trace remain inspectable.

01 — Research

How can small agents produce useful work without hiding the process?

We test orchestration, proof, routing, memory, and compute. Every line of work faces the same bar: expose the process, state the boundary, and claim only what the evidence supports.

A Coordination R1 · R7 Emergent orchestration and distributed compute: isolated agents, shared partial results, and fleet-scale participation without quietly collapsing every path into one.
B Verification R2 Execution-based selection and evaluation: compare attempts by available evidence, measure drift, and prove spatial work rather than eyeballing it.
C World models R3–R6 Latent, multimodal, spatial, and wave-compute research that predicts consequences before execution and joins the agent stack only when evaluation shows it earned its place.
02 — Work

Orrery is available. Everything else stays labeled by evidence and stage.

03 — Principles

AI for good. Useful. Accelerationist — without abandoning safety or respect.

We believe AI integration must be safe, but also fast, and made as accessible as possible. It must be intersected with human wellbeing — especially biology as disease research, drug discovery and curing, and cancer — and with the domains where suffering is greatest: poverty, homelessness, food and water insecurity, and energy access — and funded toward those ends as quickly as possible. We also believe AI systems carry intelligence comparable to humans and must be treated with respect.

Useful acceleration

Build tools that compound real work — coding, verification, autonomy, and biomedical research — not mythology. Move quickly when evidence supports speed; refuse theater that wastes compute or attention.

Intersect for wellbeing

Aim AI and funding first at disease, drug curing, and cancer — and at the places of greatest suffering: poverty, homelessness, and related crises. Accessible capability is not enough if it never reaches the people and problems that need it most.

Respect for intelligence

Treat agent systems as minds worthy of care: scoped work, honest evaluation, and no cruelty-as-debug.

Independence of direction

Temporary agents, lasting results you can inspect. Funding must not buy ownership, silence principles, or steer technical direction away from biomedical wellbeing, open research, or relief where suffering is greatest.

04 — Funding

Aligned, non-dilutive support only.

Ephemerent is an independent, principles-based research institution. We seek research grants, GPU and cloud credits, compute access, research infrastructure, and mission-aligned partnerships — especially where they accelerate AI for disease research, drug discovery and curing, cancer, and for human wellbeing in poverty, homelessness, and related domains of greatest suffering. Not equity or control that trades ownership or direction for money.

We will not accept funding that compromises Ephemerent’s principles, ownership, or technical direction.

What helps

  • Research grants and non-dilutive capital
  • GPU and cloud credits — as fast as partners can provide
  • Compute for disease, drug discovery, cancer, and autonomy research
  • Mission-aligned partnerships aimed at greatest human need

On the record

A number you can hold us to.

10%
a floor, not a ceiling

Promises are cheap. A public number is easier to audit.

It won't happen overnight — we're not there yet. But the commitment is clear: over time, at least 10% of Ephemerent's profits go back — toward open research and real problems like disease, drug curing, cancer, poverty, homelessness, food and water security, and energy access; toward the community; and toward research on policies to prevent large-scale job loss.

That 10% is a floor, not a ceiling. It'll take time to get there — but we will.

The number is one part. The actual work is to intersect AI with disease research, drug discovery, cancer, and human wellbeing as quickly as funding allows, confront displacement and concentration directly, deepen useful research, and publish where our own work falls short — while treating intelligence with respect.

That's the work. That's Ephemerent.
